Together We Can Close the Open Door!

Satan has literally walked in an “open door” and set up camp in our schools, and he will not leave until we, the church of Jesus Christ. How many more deaths must we witness?

Because a Supreme Court’s decision more than 40 years ago, which forbids voluntary prayer in public schools, we have witnessed a myriad of crimes and other violent acts committed by or against our children inside schools across America like we have never seen before. As a consequence, the condition in and around our schools is unquestionably horrifying. Sex maniacs and other offenders have permeated the school system, preying on innocent children.

Moreover, school staff and students are not only susceptible to angry, disgruntled students who will at any moment pull the trigger, stab, or engage in other violent acts, but they are vulnerable to evil men who enter schools and murder.

Without question, there is a problem; and the solution, we believe, is restoring voluntary prayer in public schools. Proverbs 22:28 says, "Remove not the ancient landmarks which thy fathers have set." Sadly, that "landmark" has been removed. Voluntary prayer in public schools is a "landmark" which God established and embedded in the hearts of our founding fathers.

We implore you to join us by appealing to the elected officials state and federal (Senators/Representatives). We appeal to those who represent us in Washington D.C. to vote for an amendment to the Constitution to restore voluntary prayer in our public schools in an adult supervised environment. This will enable our children to pray, thus restoring order once again in the public schools in America.

If you have been called to be a Rebuilder, Repairer, or Restorer, then please help us get this urgent message to your U.S. Senators and Representatives. Take a few minutes and download the petition letter, sign and mail it to the representative from your district or state.

After downloading the petiton letter, sign your name, and write the city and state where you live in the blank. Mail it to the Senators and Representatives from your state.

School prayer in its most common usage refers to state sanctioned prayer by students in state schools. Depending on the country and the type of school, organized prayer may be required, permitted, or proscribed. The separation of church and state, in the United States, is one legal reason given for proscribing state sanctioned school prayers.

Prayer in public schools became an issue in 1960 when Madalyn Murray O'Hair, a militant left wing atheist with close ties to the American Communist Party, sued the Baltimore, Maryland school system (Murray v. Curlett, 1963) on behalf of her son William J Murray because he was being forced to participate in prayer in school. The local court judge, J. Gilbert Pendergast, dismissed the petition stating, "It is abundantly clear that petitioners' real objective is to drive every concept of religion out of the public school system." The case went to the Maryland Court of Appeals, and the court ruled, "Neither the First nor the Fourteenth Amendment was intended to stifle all rapport between religion and government."

Ultimately, Murray O'Hair's actions and the actions of the American Atheist Organization resulted in the Supreme Court rulings of 1962 and 1963. Tragically, the Murray-O'Hairs family disappeared in August of 1995. In January 2001, a full five and a half years after they were last seen, the bodies of the Murray-O'Hairs were finally found on a sprawling ranch near the little town of Camp Wood, Texas. (Id.)

School prayer was removed from the U.S. public education system by slowly changing the meaning of the First Amendment through a number of court cases over several decades, the Abington Township School District v. Schempp (consolidated with Murray v. Curlett), 374 U.S. 203 (1963) and Engel v. Vitale, 370 U.S. 421 (1962). At issue in Engel v. Vitale was the New York education system's adoption of a school prayer to be said before the start of each day's classes. This prayer promoted good moral character, provided spiritual training, and helped combat juvenile delinquency. The regents wrote a school prayer that was non- sectarian or denominational. In fact, it was so bland that it became known as the "to whom it may concern prayer." The mandatory prayer to be said daily by all school children that the opponents objected to was: "Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and we beg Thy blessings upon us, our parents, our teachers and our Country."
